From Tromsø Husky Experience with Self Drive Dog Sled Ride

Marvel at the beautiful winter scenery as you arrive at the camp in Breivikeidet

This tour departs from the city center of Tromsø from where you will head out on a scenic 50-minute bus transfer to our camp in Breivikeidet.

Upon arrival at our camp, situated in a picturesque valley close to the sea, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff, and we will provide you with thermal suits, winter boots, hats, and mittens before heading out on the dog sledding adventure.

Before meeting your team of huskies, your guide will go through the safety instructions and show you the basics of steering the sled.

Note that this tour offers a short dog sled ride: you will get the chance to drive your dog sled in a slow and comfortable pace for about 10-15 minutes depending on the sledding conditions. Halfway through the tour your guide will make a stop to take photos of you being a dog musher before you switch places with your passenger on the sled. Once done with taking the photos, you will start sledding back to camp for another 10-15 minutes.

After the dog sled ride, you’ll get the chance to strengthen your bond with the huskies: you can give and receive all the cuddles you can handle.

After your visit to the dog yard, you are invited to the warm comforts of our panorama restaurant where you can learn a lot more about the dogs from our knowledgeable guides over some hot drinks and cake.

When you change back to your own clothes and wave one last goodbye to the huskies, you’ll be driven back to the city by bus with an experience of a lifetime behind you and spectacular photos to show for it!
